At 6’4” and still growing, Anthony Taylor has become a valuable asset as one of only two sophomores on the Rio Americano varsity basketball team. The Mirada spoke with Taylor to find out more about his journey.
How does it feel to be one of two sophomores on the varsity team?
It feels great because I get to play better competition and learn under more advanced coaching which pushes me to get better each day.
If you could shoot hoops with any basketball player who would it be and why?
Kevin Durant because he can teach me some moves.
How is the team doing?
We are currently 4-1 in league and are looking to win some more big games to prepare for playoffs.
Do you have hobbies or interests outside of sports?
I love hanging out with friends and playing video games.
What is your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject is history because I enjoy learning about all the things that led up to our world today.
How do you balance academic and sports practices?
I try to keep all of my school papers organized and take time after practice or games to finish homework or study for a test.
