- Senior Olivia Huang won first place in the Sacramento Optimist Club annual essay contest, and moved on to win the Pacific Central District optimist essay contest. Her essay discussed how optimism has paved the road to success.
- Mirada reporter and Levee editor-in-chief Gabrielle Berry (12) won an honorable mention for her profile on Sacramento author Ashley Langdon, who wrote the first-ever comprehensive guide to the American River Parkway.
- Jakob Bauer, Josh Merri and Zoe Overholt took the top prizes for the Rio Earth Week photo contest organized by senior Katherine Hickey.
