Volunteers with the Save the Snakes organization visited the Rio Americano High School library at lunch, Sept. 13, to show students the importance of snakes.
The group brought three snakes that students could pet and presented an informative slideshow.
“I really liked it. I got to learn more about snakes and I’m a lot less scared of snakes now,” said junior Myra Harris.
According to the group’s website, “The mission of Save The Snakes is to conserve snakes around the world through education, research, and community support. We envision a world where humans and snakes live harmoniously in increasingly healthy ecosystems.”
