Picking a spot to eat, whether it be my soccer team wanting to go grab a bite after practice or my friends and I craving a burger, Willie’s is almost always the spot to go. Willie’s Burgers was always the spot my friends and I went to eat. During the weekends you can always find the place bustling full of people enjoying the food. On warm summer days you can sit outside in the newly redone patio seating along with a game of bocce ball or cornhole.

 Inside, the restaurant smells of fries and their signature burger, the hammer 2, a single patty with cheese. Their extensive menu, which includes tacos, hot dogs and salads, has many things to choose from, but I rarely stray from my typical order. The hammer 4, a double patty burger with cheese, has always been one of my favorite fast food burgers, especially with grilled onions, tomatoes and lettuce. The produce in the burger always seems fresh, but the pattie could be bigger and the size is the main reason I always order a double patty.

One of the best things about Willie’s is the milkshakes. In other fast food restaurants the milkshakes seem to be getting smaller and smaller, and I can’t quite bring myself to finish them, but Willie’s milkshakes are thick and flavorful. Multiple new flavors have been added, such as cookies and cream and peanut butter.

Many times over the summer my friends and I went to get just some fries and a shake, and it has become one of my favorite treats.

While costs are rising, Willie’s remains very affordable, especially for teenagers who are starting to have to pay for things on their own. Students can get a discount if they provide their student ID’s. The discount has been lowered from 30% to 10%, but it still helps out. 

The fries portions are one of my biggest complaints. I rarely get fries with my burger because of it. The small fries are expensive for a small amount of them, but for a dollar or two more, you can get nearly double the amount, enough that you could not possibly finish. If you go with friends, I recommend buying the large fries for everyone and sharing, instead of separately getting smaller sizes. 

Usually I ride my bike to Willie’s, but now that I’ve started driving, I noticed the parking. Willie’s Burgers has about a dozen parking spots, which can fill up quickly.

Overall, Willie’s is a great place to grab a bite to eat. It is perfect for family and friends and has a large menu with something for everyone to enjoy. Its new outdoor seating and remodel give people good seating options in every type of weather and the food and shakes are always good.
