World Animal Day exists to bring animal lovers together to help raise the status of animals and improve welfare standards for animals around the globe.
With World Animal Day coming up on Oct. 4, Rio students shared what their favorite animals are, from popular answers like cats and dogs to unique responses like mudskippers and water deer.

I had no idea it was World animal day. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of birds that rio students choose, beating out their rival cats. Personally a dog fan, however bird is a close second.
